BENEFITS OF THE EMERGING ARTISTS SHOWCASE:
EMA and BLEMF will present a concert for each selected ensemble or artist, to be livestreamed and recorded for future broadcast on WFIU Public Radio. We will also offer financial assistance for travel and help with finding accommodation. EMA and BLEMF will produce national publicity for both the Festival and the Showcase and promote musicians by way of EMAg—the Magazine of Early Music America, EMA’s Weekly E-Notes, as well as on EMA and BLEMF’s website and social media accounts.
In addition to performing during the Showcase at BLEMF, the selected musicians will participate in workshop sessions focused on entrepreneurship and career development, sponsored by the Office of Entrepreneurship and Career Development at the IU Jacobs School of Music, and led by leading luminaries and presenters in the field. We are also planning additional networking events for 2019.
As we move forward with the Festival & Showcase, our hope is that we can offer soloists and ensembles a supportive and stimulating environment in which they can grow and flourish. We look forward to presenting dynamic concerts that reflect the future of historical performance in North America.
