Please join us in endorsing the Improving Seniors' Timely Access to Care Act which would improve timely access to quality care for seniors under Medicare Advantage. Health plans, health care providers, manufacturers, and patients agree that the prior authorization process must be improved to better serve patients and reduce unnecessary administrative burdens for clinicians. And the Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act is the solution!
The bipartisan, bicameral legislation is championed by U.S. Senators Roger Marshall, M.D. (R-KS) and Mark Warner (D-VA), and U.S. Representatives Mike Kelly (R-PA), Suzan DelBene (D-WA), Ami Bera, M.D. (D-CA), and John Joyce, M.D. (R-PA).
Last Congress, the bill was supported by a super majority of members in the Senate
(60), a majority in the House (232), and unanimously passed the
House in 2022. In 2022, the CBO score prevented further advancement;
however, the Senate
and House co-leads led efforts last Congress to reduce the CBO score to
ZERO by encouraging the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to
implement final rules that significantly reduced the cost and making modest
changes to the legislation.
Since its introduction, over 550 organizations that represent patients, clinicians, hospitals, and other key stakeholders in the health care industry endorsed the legislation. For those that endorsed the bill last Congress, we hope you will renew your support. We also encourage new supporters to join us in this movement.
