Students actively enrolled at PUSD in Kinder -12th grades are eligible to borrow a Chromebook for at-home use for FREE. Chromebooks will remain at home with the student, even during the summer, unless the student withdraws or chooses to return the device. Chromebooks must be returned when a student is no longer enrolled at PUSD. Chromebooks NOT returned will be considered STOLEN and reported as such to the POLICE.
PUSD also provides optional Chromebook insurance. This insurance covers ONE student using ANY PUSD device on campus OR at home. If a student drops or breaks ANY device while in the classroom or at home, insurance covers repair and replacement costs. Otherwise, the student would be responsible for the costs.
You may apply for insurance and the FREE At-Home Loaner Program by completing this form (click NEXT). There is no charge for a loaner CB, but any breakage will be the responsibility of the student unless insurance is purchased. You can PICK UP the Chromebook from the District Office (if paying insurance) or your School site (Chromebook only) as soon as form is submitted.
PUSD CHROMEBOOK AT-HOME LOANER PROGRAM
Devices are PUSD property and should be protected from loss, damage or theft. Stolen, lost or devices damaged due to negligent behavior will be the FINANCIAL responsibility of the person who provided their ID at the time of pickup. Purchasing the Insurance Option is strongly encouraged.
Devices are FILTERED as a student.
Inspect the device when issued and report any damage immediately to avoid damage charges.
Devices should not be left in environments with temperatures below 40 or above 95 ℉.
All activity (at school or at home) conducted on PUSD equipment is monitored and must comply with the PUSD Electronic User Agreement.
Devices are for PUSD students ONLY. Use by anyone else is prohibited. Devices are to be used for PUSD EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.
Keep food and liquid away from devices and do not insert foreign objects (paperclips, pens, etc.) into the ports.
Do not mark on devices with markers, stickers, etc. Do not remove the district identification barcode.
The person presenting a driver’s license and picking up the device agrees to pay for replacement of lost, stolen or damage due to negligent behavior.
OPTIONAL PUSD DEVICE INSURANCE PROGRAM--$40 per student (Annual Renewal $20)

2nd Repair = $30 or repair cost (whichever is lower)
Coverage ends the day before the new school year. --NO REFUNDS after 10 days of receiving insurance payment
TERMS OF INSURANCE: No Refunds after 10 days of receiving insurance payment.
- This insurance policy covers ONE student using any PUSD Device or adapter on campus or at home.
- Coverage starts the day payment for insurance is received and continues until the day before school starts the following year OR until the SECOND claim is processed. After the second claim, this policy is terminated and a new policy will need to be purchased for continued coverage.
- 1st Claim is covered with no additional cost or deductible.
- 2nd Claim requires a $30 deductible or the cost of the repair (whichever is lower).
