We are always looking for volunteers to join our volunteer team.
You don’t need any specialised knowledge or prior experience as full training will be given. We work with people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. As a volunteer at Site Gallery, you will gain valuable experience and knowledge of the inner workings of a contemporary art gallery, in a vibrant and fun setting. You will be welcoming visitors, invigilating the exhibitions, assisting in the shop and supporting reception duties. For those keen to broaden their experience there will be opportunities to help our curatorial team research future exhibitions and events, event delivery, technical set up and supporting the marketing department.
We typically ask volunteers to support us for one half day a week (or full-day if you prefer) during gallery opening hours:
Tues-Wed: 11am - 6pmThurs: 11am - 8pmFri-Sat: 11am - 6pmSun: 11am - 4pm
We also ask for support from volunteers during exhibition previews and events out of usual working hours. Typically volunteers stay with us for 3 - 12 months.
Expenses for travel and lunch are covered (up to £5.00 per shift).
Voluntary positions are reviewed regularly to ensure that you are developing the essential skills and experience to enhance your future potential. Tasks and duties assigned to volunteers are often broad ranging, from reception duties, serving in the shop to assisting with technical set up and exhibitions and supporting the marketing department.
We encourage people from a diversity of backgrounds to apply.
