We're always looking for volunteers to join our team - you don’t need any specialised knowledge or prior experience. Our role includes using basic office equipment (laptop, iPad, telephone) for which full training will be given. We can support you if this is something you're not confident in, but as this is a reception based role there is an amount of answering the phone, responding to emails, and using a point of sale system.
We typically ask volunteers to support us during gallery opening hours:
Tue-Sat: 11am - 5pm
Sun: 11am - 4pm
We also ask for support during exhibition previews and events out of usual working hours, such as with our participation activities or in partnership with other arts organisations.
As a regular volunteer, you could come every week, or a couple of times a month - it's up to you. We ask for a commitment of around 6 hours per month.
Expenses for travel and refreshments are covered (up to £5 travel and £5 food and drink per shift).
We encourage people from any background to apply. Our interview process is very informal and we encourage a taster shift to find out more about the role and what we do.
