MART Bursary Application
Before you begin this application, please contact the vice president, Sabrina Melanson, at to notify her of your interest.  Once she is aware of your interest, then continue to complete the application and submit.  Please carefully read all the information posted below.  We suggest printing a copy of this information so you can reference it at a later date.

Members of Manitoba Association of Resource Teachers may apply once per school year for a bursary of up to $500.  The bursary can be used to purchase books for professional growth, attend a professional development event (registrations cost, transportation for out of division locations, hotel, meals *excluding alcohol, and guest teacher), purchase materials that are connected to a professional learning goal, or any other suggestions that supports the recipients' professional growth plan.

All applications should be for future endeavors, not for previously completed.  Therefore, dates on receipts must reflect the purchase or completion date is after the date of acceptance notification.  This may disqualify anything that is currently "in progress".  All applications must be for the current year.

Members who are approved for a bursary will receive the awarded funds after MART receives: receipt(s) of completion or purchase, unless a special circumstance has been included in the application and approved by executives.  Recipients are expected to pay it forward to other members, by writing a short summary of how they used the bursary.  This may include submitting a journal entry or another creative way to share your experience and learning to be featured in MART publications.

All applications for the 2022-2023  school year must be submitted by April 1, 2023.  After you receive your acceptance letter, you will receive a package with reports that must be completed in full and submitted by June 1st, 2023.
MART will award a total of up to $4000.00 per year to members.  Bursary applications are addressed on a first come, first serve basis.  Applications that are received after funds are exhausted will be denied and encouraged to apply in the new school year. The vice president may need up to 4 weeks to present your application to the executive committee.
