BECOMING A MEMBER.
Qualification for membership:
Must be over 16 years of age, agree with the purposes of the organisation, and cannot be an employee of the organisation.
Fees:
There are no membership fees.
Privileges:
Access to members only events and workshops, special discounts, and offers.
Voting rights:
Members may vote on matters at the AGM, and at special members meetings - you must be a member of the organisation to have any voting rights. Each member shall have one vote. Any decisions will be made on a majority vote basis, unless related to resolutions identified under clause 51 of the constitution.
EGM (Extraordinary general meeting):
Referred to as a “Special Members Meeting”, members of the organisation can request a special members meeting of the board if requested by more than 5% of the total membership.

Shetland Pride will keep your information secure, will never share any of your personal contact information with third-parties unless express consent is given, and will only contact you with information on events, workshops, and services that we have to offer.
Charity and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005:
Under the 2005 Act, any member of the organisation can request a list of members (personal information will be redacted), which we are legally obliged to give.
How long will we store your information?
We will store all of the personal information you provide for the duration of your membership. If you cease to be a member, we have a legal obligation to keep your name, and the date you ceased to be a member for a minimum of 6 years.
