TAKE FLIGHT: Textron Aviation / U.S. Ski & Snowboard Flight Training Scholarship
U.S. Ski & Snowboard partner Textron Aviation is providing flight training scholarships for U.S. Ski & Snowboard athletes who want to achieve their private pilot certification, and/or additional flight ratings and certifications.

Scholarship applications are accepted March 1-31, 2023 and scholarship winners will be announced April 15, 2023. Applicants are encouraged to apply for funding at each stage of their aviation journey.

Eligibility Criteria:
1. Currently be named to a U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team Athlete (A-D/Rookie)
2. Demonstrate commitment to his/her sport and a desire to continue and excel in the sport
3. Demonstrate commitment to aviation
4. Must be enrolled in U.S. Ski & Snowboard Content Collective Program (https://usskiandsnowboard.org/content-collective)
5. Must hold at least an FAA Class III Medical Certificate (https://www.faa.gov/licenses_certificates/medical_certification/faq/)

Athletes receiving scholarship funding also agree to the following:
1. Minimum of four (4) social media posts facilitated through the Content Collective program documenting your flight training progress through your Social Media channels and adding the following tags: #TextronAviation, when training in Cessna (@Cessna), Beechcraft (@Beechcraft), and Pipistrel (@PipistrelAircraft).
2. Agree to provide a written, photographic and/or video testimonial of their flight training experience to Textron Aviation and U.S. Ski & Snowboard for the purpose of promoting this program and Textron Aviation’s support of U.S. Ski & Snowboard.

Scholarship funds may be applied toward the following:
Ground School components of each rating. This is time spent in a classroom with a CFI “ground briefs” as stated by the applicable school syllabus
Flight Training components of each rating. This is time spent in an airplane or simulator with a CFI as determined by the FAA Part 61 or Part 141 syllabus
Any fees associated with training registration
Kings School Course Subscription
Applicable Certificates, Ratings and Endorsements include:
             o Private Pilot Certificate
             o Instrument Rating
             o Commercial Rating
             o Multi-engine Rating
             o Complex Endorsement
             o High Performance Endorsement
             o Type Ratings for Cessna, Beechcraft and Pipistrel aircraft
             o Certified Flight Instructor – CFI
             o Certified Flight Instructor Instrument - CFII

Funds may not be used for the following

FAA Aeronautical Charts
FAA Chart Supplement
FAA Textbooks
Take-Off Data Cards
Navigation Logs
E6B Calculator
View Limiting Device
Logbook purchase
Plane Checklists (standard & emergency)
Fuel Tester / Strainer
IFR Charts (Jeppesen) / ForeFlight Subscription
iPad or tablet equivalent
FAR/AIM Book / Application
Purchase of any access to Online Training Providers (excluding King School) or Question Banks (e.g. Sheppard Air, Gleim Aviation, Sporty’s etc.)
Aviation Headset
Medical Certification Assessment
Type ratings for non-Textron Aviation aircraft
