First Unitarian Draft Updated Bylaws feedback

In July 2024, the First Unitarian Board of Trustees (BOT) charged a Governance Task Force to “assess, research, and recommend changes/revisions to current FUSD by-laws and organizational structure, in the interest of improving shared ministry, flexibility, transparency, and effectiveness.” As part of its work, the Governance Task Force has reviewed bylaws from other UU congregations, consulted UUA resources and sought input from the BOT and other FUSD groups. Based on this research, the Task Force has compiled a Draft Updated Bylaws, which are now available for members of the congregation to review.

Thank you for taking time to provide feedback to the Governance Task Force. This feedback form is divided into sections. Please provide your input in the appropriate section. There is also a place to include input on the sections that this draft removed from the bylaws and an "other" option.

PLEASE NOTE: The items removed from the bylaws will be included in a new Policy and Procedures Manual that will be managed by the Board of Trustees. Thus, the Board will have the authority to alter those policy items without bringing them to the congregation for a vote.
