Dreamfar High School Marathon Mentor Application
Dreamfar High School Marathon challenges students to reach their full potential—physically, socially, and emotionally—through a mentor-supported marathon training program. As a Dreamfar mentor you will be expected to run alongside students and help them train for and complete the Providence Marathon. Mentors must make a commitment to the program for one full Dreamfar season (November-May). This commitment includes attending 80% of the Saturday training runs and up to 4 races. If you do not have any concerns about making this commitment, please submit this application.

Leaders are encouraged to train with their students on weekdays and Saturdays with the mentors, but are not required to do so.

Leader responsibilities include:

Recruiting students to participate in the program

Overseeing students’ marathon training including creating training routes, securing meeting locations, and maintaining attendance

Enforcing Dreamfar policies including proper precautions relating to safety and behavior

Supervising weekly after school training runs and attend race events with their students

Communicating program information with students, parents, school administration

Maintaining contact with Dreamfar staff, including checking and responding to Dreamfar email regularly

Fundraising Goal
Dreamfar is a non-profit organization. Our operations depend on charitable contributions from organizations and individuals. While the time you volunteer with the students is what we value the most, we would love to have your support in our fundraising initiative! We are asking that all mentors raise a minimum of $200 over the course of the season. The funds you raise will support our students’ marathon training journey.
