Are you exploring a unique perspective that’s promoting new insight? Pursuing extraordinary projects right here in our local community? Is there a compelling story that can change how we interpret and affect our world? Does the idea need to be shared to grow? Then you should give your own TED Talk!

TEDxCMU is a conference at Carnegie Mellon University that brings together some of the world’s most bold and innovative thinkers to give the talk of their lives. This immersive, daylong conference shares the talents of CMU’s speakers and performers with the Pittsburgh community to create the magic that is TEDxCMU. Our past events have been very successful, gathering 500+ attendees from the local community and featuring some of the world’s best speakers. For reference, please take a look at photos from our previous events and past TEDxCMU Talks (links referenced below)

TEDxCMU 2018 will take place on Sunday, April 1st in McConomy Auditorium at Carnegie Mellon University so please ensure this date and majority of Easter weekend pose no scheduling conflicts. Based upon your application, if selected as a finalist you will participate in a followup evaluation, either through in-person presentations or through a video conference, where you will give a rough draft of your intended TED Talk to the TEDxCMU board. The deadline to apply is Sunday, October 29th.

We are delighted that you are interested in joining our speaker lineup for our TEDxCMU 2018 conference and look forward to reading your application!
