Reports to: CEO
AT A GLANCE
Daily Drop is a fast-growing travel media company that helps people travel smarter and spend better by unlocking the power of points, miles, and deals. We are looking for a Director of Content & Conversion to join our leadership team. This is a high-impact role for someone who is passionate about creating content that engages and informs our audience while maintaining the quality, trust, and brand voice that Daily Drop is known for.
You’ll oversee day-to-day content and editorial operations, leading a team that delivers compelling stories, guides, and insights for our readers. You’ll also partner with our marketing lead to ensure that our content supports the broader growth engine—helping drive mid- to bottom-funnel conversions, including credit card signups and paid subscriptions—without compromising the integrity or quality of our free content.
This is a high-leverage role that shapes our content strategy, strengthens our relationship with readers, and contributes to growth as we help audiences unlock unforgettable experiences and maximize every mile, dollar, and moment.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
Strategy and Revenue Alignment
- Develop and evolve a content and conversion strategy that drives newsletter growth, retention, monetization, and website conversions.
- Set priorities and build a roadmap that balances audience value, brand integrity, and revenue goals.
- Ensure our content stays unique and valuable in a post-ChatGPT world, with clear differentiation and long-term relevance.
Content and Distribution
- Oversee production of high-quality content across newsletter, website, social, YouTube, etc.
- Uphold brand voice, editorial standards, and style consistency.
- Leverage AI tools to help the team focus on high-impact work while improving efficiency and quality.
- Ensure all content is optimized for discovery through search (SEO) and answer (AIO) engines.
Conversion Optimization
- Optimize content journeys and pathways that guide readers from engagement to action, including content supporting financial product decisions and bottom-funnel conversions.
- Design and run A/B tests, CRO experiments, and funnel analyses to improve performance from engagement to conversion.
- Ensure the right measurement infrastructure is in place to track clicks, CTRs, conversions by content, time to conversion, and more.
Team Leadership and Culture
- Manage, mentor, and grow the content team. Set high standards for quality, but also for iteration, testing, speed, and clarity.
- Foster a culture of data-driven creativity; encourage collaboration, shared learning, and continuous improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with the Marketing lead to align messaging, campaigns, and audience acquisition across the full funnel.
- Collaborate with Product/Tech to ensure content and conversion paths are seamless and optimized.
- Work with the Partnerships team to integrate newsletter sponsorships and other revenue opportunities into the content strategy.
- Coordinate with Finance & Business Operations on performance measurement, analytics, and modeling to ensure content decisions are data-informed.
- Manage affiliate relationships and oversee content publishing and compliance, especially for financial product content.
Performance and Reporting
- Track, analyze, and report performance metrics and KPIs: content ROI, conversion rates, affiliate revenue by content type/channel, subscription growth, churn/retention.
- Use data to inform strategy, identify opportunities, and pivot as needed.
Budget and Stakeholder Management
- Own content/conversion budget: tools, headcount, testing budget, external vendors/freelancers.
- Manage partner and vendor relationships (affiliate networks, CRO tools, SEO/AIO tools, etc.).
- Stakeholder communication: present strategy, results, and tradeoffs to leadership.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- You have a passion for travel and firsthand experience that helps you create engaging, authentic content.
- 5+ years in content conversion, affiliate, performance, or revenue-driven editorial. Experience in financial products (credit cards, banking, compliance), travel rewards (points and miles), and email or web content distribution at scale is strongly preferred.
- Deep expertise in conversion funnels, including mid- and bottom-funnel metrics, A/B testing, CRO, and data-backed optimization.
- Strong SEO and AIO skills: able to drive organic traffic and support readers through both discovery and decision stages.
- Newsletter expertise: understanding core metrics, balancing editorial and sponsorships, and activating content journeys that engage readers.
- Leadership experience: building or scaling a content/conversion team, maintaining quality under deadlines, and setting priorities.
- Solid writing sense: able to craft content that persuades, not just informs.
- Excellent communicator: can explain metrics to non-data colleagues and collaborate across marketing, design, product, and legal/compliance.
- Data-driven: relies on metrics to guide strategy, identify opportunities, and accelerate execution.
- Bias toward action and ownership: experiments, learns fast, iterates, and combines strategic thinking with strong execution.
WHY THIS ROLE IS EXCITING
- You’ll directly impact revenue through content, not just traffic. Your work will feed the bottom line.
- You’ll have high visibility, working closely with the CEO and leadership team, shaping core growth levers.
- You’ll have the chance to build systems and processes that scale, not just manage what exists already.
- You’ll balance creative, editorial excellence with rigorous experimentation and performance.
- You’ll join a lean, remote team where your impact is immediate, and your ideas shape our growth.
- You’ll help millions of travelers spend smarter and experience more — and have fun doing it.
