Application for Participation in Five Week Workshop "Change"
This workshop, a collaboration with the Idaho Humanities Council, is designed to give beginning or advanced producers the skills it takes to produce a compelling podcast for potential broadcast on Radio Boise. The theme of this workshop is "Change" and aims to help producers create a piece that chronicles change in a story subject's life, whether the change be observable, physical, a change in interaction with one's environment, or entirely inside. These pieces are intended to be fairly short, from 5 to 10 minutes. The workshop will cover the elements of storytelling, interviewing, audio editing software, and, with a little luck, effective sound design. The workshop takes place on Wednesdays, beginning May 29 and ending June 26. Classes will take place from 6pm to 8:30 at the Radio Boise studios at 1020 West Main Street, Suite 50.There will also be open office hours each Sunday afternoon during the course for your questions and for individualized sessions.

Previous experience is not required and participants can work solo or with a partner. The course is $100, with scholarships available upon request to ensure that class fees do not prevent anyone from participating. The course includes a free trial subscription to Hindenburg editing software. Class participants should have their own laptops.
