Our goal is to acquaint elderly Maltese individuals with fundamental skills for utilizing tablets and smartphones, particularly for internet use, enabling them to access online government services (e-government), such as servizz.gov.mt, and e-ID. Additionally, we will provide training on basic online tools, including setting up and utilizing email services like Gmail and Outlook, as well as fundamental communication platforms like WhatsApp, Messenger, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet. We will give special emphasis to integrating basic computer security skills into our training sessions, particularly concerning internet usage, including social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram) and messaging applications like WhatsApp and Messenger.
To accomplish these objectives, we have designed a program consisting of 24+1 sessions, with the final session serving as a graduation ceremony where participants will provide feedback on their learning experiences. We will introduce a gamification element to our activities, wherein the top three performers will receive a small tablet for personal use.
