GUIDELINES FOR PERSONAL ACADEMIC ASSISTANCE (PAA)
1. PAA is an after-school academic program that aims to provide students with further academic support.
2. PAA may be handled by a PAA Teacher within the same hour or time for one or more, but no more than five, students enrolled in the same subject.
2. PAA may be extended/rendered for a one-hour or one-and-a-half-hour, after school hours (4:00 p.m.), upon the agreement of the PAA Teacher and student. PAA is rendered for 10 hours. Any PAA that is under or over 10 hours should have the prior approval of the Assistant Principal for Academics.
3. The 10-hour PAA must be completed within the term/semester in which it is applied for. As a general rule, no “carry over” of PAA hours will be allowed.
4. No subject teacher may act as PAA Teacher for his/her current student.
5. An absence or tardiness of at least 15 minutes without prior notice of a valid excuse shall be deemed as one hour of PAA rendered. In case a student is late or absent for PAA in spite of being present for classes during the day, the ASAP Supervisor will conduct an inquiry.
6. PAA Request Forms may be secured from the HS Principal’s Office.
7. When a student registers for PAA, it is understood that he is availing himself of the 10-hour PAA. Withdrawal from PAA must be done in writing. If he does before the start of the PAA period, he shall be charged 25% of the total amount paid. If he withdraws after availing himself of at least one hour of PAA, he shall not be entitled to any refund, whether or not the reason for withdrawal is justifiable.
