Young Adult Literature Prize 2025
Are you a budding writer of young adult literature? Do you have a story to tell that features a teenage protagonist, explores pre-adult psychological development, and falls into one of the following sub-genres: adventure/quest, romance/love, identity, friendship, family, or rebellious teens? 

If so, you are invited to submit your novella/novel to the TY Buratai Literary Initiative's 2nd Young Adult Literature Prize 2025.

GUIDELINES:

-          The prize is open to Nigerians within or outside the country

-          Entries should be original, between 80-120 pages in Arial Font, Size 12

-          Only unpublished manuscripts are acceptable. TYBLI intends to grow this genre by publishing the best ten entries in a post-event anthology.

-          Submitted manuscripts must not be published before announcement of Prize winners in November 1, 2025

-          The language should be age- appropriate, easy to read, and may include slangs and colloquial terms. Specifically for ages 13-19.

-          Entries should reflect one or more of the common themes and archetypes of young adult literature, such as solo quest to change the world, rag-to-riches, diversity, identity, or recreating classic stories.

-          Previous judges are eligible to participate after two years of their adjudication service. This is to maintain the integrity of the competition.

-          Family members of the TYBLI Prize Administrators and the judges for the previous year are not eligible to participate in this competition.

-          Previous participants, including winners in different categories may participate but with a different entry from the previous one.

-          Each participant is required to fill out the application form on the website with relevant information, given which your entry, even though received, might not be eligible.

-          Entries should be sent as a Word document attachment, to TYBLITERARYI@GMAIL.COM on or before midnight of July 31, 2025.

-          Please put in the subject line “TYBLI Young Adults Literature Prize 2025.

PRIZES

-          All participants will receive Certificates of Participation.

-          Six regional winners will receive N500,000.00/each, Certificates Of Merit and will qualify for the grand prize.

-          The shortlisted entries will also be featured on the TY Buratai Literary Initiative’s website and social media platforms.

-          The Grand Prize Winner will be announced on November 1, 2025, and will receive N1,500,000.00
