Join Walk SF and Excelsior Action Group to survey speeding in the Excelsior
Every year, 100 people are injured in traffic crashes in the Excelsior - and speeding is a leading cause of these crashes. So we're going to collect speed data to better understand what's happening on our streets, and where street safety improvements that address dangerous speeds are needed the most.
Time: Thursday, July 21 from 2:30-4:00pm
Location: Meet at Excelsior Playground (579 Madrid). After a short outdoor training, you'll go out in a group of three people to measure vehicle speeds on a nearby street.
We'll provide everything need - no prior knowledge or experience needed - but this will activity involve standing for over 90 minutes, including approximately 20 minutes of walking. This event is completely outdoors.
