Throughout our lives as Black men, we face constant challenges. From a young age, we’re taught to be strong, to keep moving forward, to hide our emotions, to be tough—even to the point of suppressing vulnerability or, at times, adopting unhealthy ideas about masculinity. As we grow, these lessons shape us, but not always for the better.
We carry these identities into the world, doing our best with what we’ve learned. While our achievements are worth celebrating, some setbacks could be avoided. We have the power to do better—to become the whole, authentic men we aspire to be.
We also experience losses and traumatic experiences that seem to break us, but we don't have to remain broken. This group will be a space to help each other heal.
Dobetter.SafeSpaces is a new gathering designed for Black men to come together in freedom and honesty. It’s a space to talk openly, share both struggles and triumphs, and simply let our words be heard. Speaking our truths can help us grow. Our responsibility is to support one another—to create a community where we can lean on each other and offer real encouragement.
These will be biweekly sessions (Zoom and/or in-person).
