A
Walking Tour Celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary
Our tour leader Dr. Peter Lillback (PhD, Westminster Theological Seminary) is president and professor of historical theology and church history at Westminster Theological Seminary. Dr. Lillback’s academic interests include church history and Christianity as it relates to American history.
Throughout the day, we will visit historic locations in Philadelphia where the Declaration of Independence was signed and defended, along with strategic locations that shaped the American story.
We will learn about the faith and leadership of William Penn, explore how God and country were understood to intersect in the minds of our founders, and see how the lives and convictions of key figures have left an enduring legacy for America—including George Washington, Samuel and John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, George Whitefield, and influential pastoral leaders from the Anglican, Presbyterian, and other church traditions.
