The Digital POWRR Institute is an immersive, hands-on training program
designed to help cultural heritage professionals build skills, confidence, and
community in digital preservation. Rooted in a philosophy of “progress over
perfection,” the Institute introduces core concepts, tools, and frameworks
through a human-centered, supportive learning environment. Participants engage
in practical exercises, peer discussion, and self-assessment activities that
equip them to take meaningful, achievable steps toward stewarding digital
materials—regardless of their institution’s size, staffing, or budget. For more
information, see https://digitalpowrr.niu.edu/.
The Digital POWRR Insitute will be held in Te Kupenga at Te Puna Matauranga o Aotearoa National Library of New Zealand in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington, New Zealand on 10-11th November 2025. Sponsored by iPRES, PARBICA and Te Puna Mātauranga o Aotearoa National Library of New Zealand.
The institute is limited to 30 attendees and it is expected that participants attend both days of the training. There are allotments for different groups and if those slots are filled, we will add your name to a waitlist.
There is no registration fee. Tea, coffee and light refreshments for morning/afternoon tea will be provided. Participants are otherwise responsible for arranging and paying for their own meals, accommodation and transport.
Participants should bring a laptop to the workshops to get the most out of the hands on and interactive activities. However, if you are unable to bring a laptop this will not limit your ability to participate.
Note that your contact details will be seen by the co-chairs of the iPRES Regional Impact Committee and shared with training staff of the Digital POWRR Institute. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to either of the co-chairs:
