Mentors and Volunteers Sign Up  - Open Data (April 4th) and Digital Rally (May 18th) Hackathons in 2026

We’re very excited to announce our sixth year running Youth Hack-A-thons for the Hudson Valley, NY.
For 2026 we plan for two events, both are in person!
- April 4th (at RPI, Troy, NY), 10:00 AM -  6:00 PM
- May 18th (at the Locust Grove, Poughkeepsie, NY) noon - 7:00 PM
 focused on schools and colleges, to provide a real-life experience with problem solving in group setting.

We are calling for:
- Mentors - tech and creative industry juniors and professionals. Some working experience is required. You will become part of a team creating a digital artifacts or prototypes, and provide professional support with empathy to our youth participants.
- Judges - skilled industry professionals. You have IT or creative industry portfolio to be proud of.
- General volunteers: taking photos / videos, registrations or other errands.

Our HVTechFest Youth Hackathons are :
- the blend of hi-tech and low-tech approaches with the goal to solve the real world problems in the public space
- Team professionals working together with inspired youth to build a digital artifact or prototype that addresses the problem
- Cultivation of an entrepreneurial spirit that  introduces collaborative and innovative ways to engage in problem solving through ideation channeling
