Kerkstraat Sundays – Public Participation Survey
Kerkstraat Sundays is a temporary, weekly, non-event street experiment in central Stellenbosch that reimagines how Kerkstrraat can function on Sundays by prioritising pedestrians, slower movement, and people-centred use of public space.

The initiative is supported by Stellenbosch Municipality and is being implemented and managed by Young Urbanists NPC, an organisation focused on creating more inclusive, walkable, and vibrant cities and towns. The project forms part of a broader conversation about the future of our town, how we move through it, and how public streets can better serve residents, businesses, and visitors alike.

The purpose of this survey is to gather public input that will be shared to the Mayco and Council.x Your feedback is important in shaping whether and how initiatives like this may evolve.

All responses will be treat ed anonymously and shared only in aggregated form as part of the monitoring and evaluation process. The survey takes approximately 3–5 minutes to complete.

Please make sure you read our basic Q&A explaining the non-event street experiment before completing the survey or sending us an email.
