Ānuenue Hawaiʻi Keiki Book Award Nominations
Hawaiʻi Librarians,
Thank you for supporting our mission to advocate for books created for and about our Hawaiʻi keiki so that they can see themselves in literature and imagine their own creative literary futures right here at home in Hawaiʻi. 

Please use the following criteria when selecting a book to nominate:
  • The book must be a picture book suitable for grades K-3
  • Books are stories created for and about children of Hawai`i
  • The book must have been published within the last 10 Years
  • The book must have been written by a living author who has not won the Ānuenue Award in the last 4 years.
  • Author from or in Hawaiʻi whose work reflects a strong connection to the experiences of Hawaiʻi keiki
  • All nomination votes being equal, priority goes to books published by a Hawai`i book publisher
  • Books in print
