We are launching a new project combining Angela's background in animal husbandry and Lexie's background in survivor advocacy and facilitation. Our mission is to offer therapeutic and caring relationships for animals and humans alike. Our space will support domestic violence and sexual assault survivors rediscovering touch, safety, and sense of hope for the future by creating a farm that provides the same for the animals previously abused or abandoned. This model provides creative alternatives to costly traditional therapy practices and typical shelter programming that can be systematically isolating, impersonal, and often not inclusive for our LGBTQIA2S+ and immigrant communities.
We would love to have you join us for our pilot programming day on Sunday, September 14th in Palmdale/Lancaster in northern LA County.
9am to 11am - we will have petting-zoo style tours available where you can meet goats, rabbits, pigs, Blueberry the cow and more.
4pm to 7:30pm - we will host a creative workshop for survivors in the space and incorporate the land and animals.
Since there is a break between offerings during the hottest hours of the day, we can offer suggestions for other things to do in the area should you decide to attend both. Exact address will be disclosed only to attendees. Snacks will be provided!
If you have particular barriers to attending, such as transportation, translations, or child-care, there will be a section below for you to share what will support you in coming. You will receive a confirmation and additional information within 48 hours of filing out this form. Do check your spam if you're not seeing it in your regular inbox.
