2020 Hometown Hero Nominations
George P. Mitchell inducted the first class of Hometown Heroes in 1999, as part of The Woodlands’ 25th Anniversary celebration. Since this time, 140 individuals, businesses, institutions and non-profit organizations have received this honor, made possible through the generosity of The Woodlands Development Company and The Woodlands Villager. Heroes are celebrated at The Woodlands’ Celebration of Excellence Gala, which will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott. WHAT MAKES A HOMETOWN HERO?

• Positive role model
• History of volunteerism
• Sacrificing personal gain to achieve noble goals
• Special awards and recognitions
• Brought positive recognition to The Woodlands
• Embodies the values of The Woodlands community
(i.e., family values, the importance of education, the arts and culture,
environmental consciousness)
• Economic contributions to the community
• Leadership and courage
• Consistent dedication and commitment to worthy causes
• Representative of the diversity within the community
• Spiritual leadership
• Dedication to public service

WHEN TO NOMINATE:

• Nominations accepted beginning Monday, March 2, 2020 through Friday, MAY 1, 2020.
