I believe that the Indian River Lagoon is a resource that must be protected. It is vital for a healthy economy and way of life in Vero Beach.
I support the City of Vero Beach’s effort to institute a small fee to build new infrastructure to make water quality improvements for run-off water entering the Indian River Lagoon (IRL).
I understand that a monthly fee for an average residential property in Vero Beach would be about the cost of a Big Mac Meal or Starbucks Latte.
I understand that all property owners would pay a fee based on their impervious area, unlike the property tax system that exempts many properties within the City.
