To comply with federal laws and to assist with program review and development, the following incidents involving SDSU students and or employees while abroad on approved programs must be reported. In addition, special notation should be made if the offense can be defined as a bias-related (hate) crime.
-Serious injury or illness requiring a visit to the hospital or medical center
-Physical/sexual assault
-Mental health issue
-Acts of terrorism, natural disasters, threats to the health and safety of SDSU students and staff
-Criminal activity, theft
-Alcohol related incidents
-Violation of local law or Provider policy
-Participant disruptions to class or the student learning experience
-Loss of personal item that involves reimbursement to program leader
When in doubt, report.
