Growing New Farmers Program Application
Are you interested in becoming a farmer and/or food system leader?
-You will experience introductory-level training including coursework, field trips, workshops, and experiential education on the 1-acre Organic Certified Farm at Middleton Place.
-You will have the opportunity to be matched with a local farmer for an apprenticeship placement to gain further hands-on experience.
-You will receive a Certificate in Sustainable Agriculture and Continuing Education Units from the College of Charleston.
-You will have access to an ever-growing network of professionals in the agriculture industry and food system

This is an application to join the Lowcountry Local First Growing New Farmers Program, offering a Certificate in Sustainable Agriculture from College of Charleston and optional apprenticeship.
Program dates: March 5th – August 27, 2017 (includes a 2 week break during early July)
Mondays 6-8pm at Local Works (1600 Meeting St.)
Wednesday OR Thursday 8:30am-12:30pm at Middleton Place Organic Farm (4300 Ashley River Rd.)
1-2 hours of additional at-home research
Some classes are rescheduled to different locations based on programming
The cost of the program is $2000. A $400.00 DEPOSIT IS REQUIRED NO LATER THAN FEBRUARY 16TH
Limited, partial, income-based scholarships are available through a separate application.
