To mark the World Day Against the Death Penalty, a panel discussion ‘Reflecting on Thailand's Path Towards Abolishing the Death Penalty’ will be held at Chiang Mai University on 11 October 2023. 

The event, featuring representatives from government, academia and civil society, will assess Thailand’s progress in moving away from the death penalty, its challenges ahead as well as common challenges for countries around the world. 

Students from Chiang Mai and beyond are welcome to attend the event for a stimulating discussion on the path towards the abolition of the death penalty in Thailand. The event will be held primarily in Thai, with simultaneous Thai-English interpretation provided.

เนื่องในโอกาสวันยุติโทษประหารชีวิตสากล จะมีการจัดอภิปรายในรูปแบบ panel discussion หัวข้อ สะท้อนเส้นทางไทยสู่การยกเลิกโทษประหารชีวิต ณ มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ ในวันที่ 11 ตุลาคม 2566

โดยการอภิปรายดังกล่าว ประกอบด้วยผู้แทนจากภาครัฐ นักวิชาการ และภาคประชาสังคม ร่วมกันถกประเด็นความคืบหน้าและความท้าทายของไทยในการเดินหน้าไปสู่การยกเลิกโทษประหารชีวิต รวมถึงความท้าทายร่วมกันของประเทศต่างๆ ทั่วโลก

นักเรียน-นักศึกษาในเชียงใหม่ รวมทั้งผู้สนใจสามารถเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมดังกล่าวเพื่อร่วมอภิปรายถึงแนวทางของประเทศไทยสู่การยกเลิกโทษประหารชีวิต โดยการอภิปรายจะจัดขึ้นในภาษาไทย (มีล่ามแปลภาษา ไทย-อังกฤษ)
