Hi everyone,
We've created this safe space for you to communicate virtually with older generations, who are physically isolated due to the current Coronavirus Outbreak. All you need to do is to fill out the 5 blanks below. You can write simple “thinking of you” messages, longer letters, or just say “thank you for what your generation has done for ours.” Please reuse this form often, and share it to deepen and broaden the love. This is a perfect activity for the whole family!
As we collect your notes, we will also email them to our partnering sites, which include venues and networks like senior centers, nursing homes and assisted living communities. Inspired by my grandma's stories and friendship, I founded The Best Day of My Life So Far to reduce older adult social isolation and promote intergenerational engagement. My team and I are committed to this work through the good times and the bad.
During the World War, when everyone thought it was the end of the world, my grandma collected the sewing machines that everyone was throwing away. When "Peace Time" came, she had a handkerchief-making business and a machine-rental business – while raising a big household of kids with my grandfather, who absolutely adored her. She inspired me to find sunshine even in dark places. The name of our organization is guided by her relentlessly positive spirit.
