Core Values
EQUITY: Bullet Train is committed to creating an inclusive environment that showcases the talent of our entire roster. Success comes from having all seven players on the field making an impact, as well as from our players on the sideline. We are committed to equity both on and off the field. We've focused the last several years on fundraising in order to cover team dues, so that ultimate will not be a financial stress for any of our players. This year we also want to direct some financial resources outside of our team, donating any extra funds from our preseason hat tournament and tryouts to organizations chosen by our community.

COMMUNITY: Bullet Train is a team that values trust and support, using team building and bonding over the course of the season to become a tight-knit family. We also work to forge stronger connections within the broader ultimate community, especially through organizing preseason events open to everyone.

SPIRIT: We believe that spirited play is rooted in respect for ourselves, our teammates, our opponents, and the sport. Bullet Train will strive to be a strong competitor in all tournaments we attend while also being the team that others look forward to playing.
Practice and Tournaments
We tentatively are planning to hold one Sunday early evening practice a week and one weekday practice. This weekday practice may have a pod format during part of the season, with north and south options, and may be a full team practice during part of the season.

We have not locked in our tournaments for the year yet but we expect to only attend one flying tournament and financial support will be available.
Planned Tournaments:
-June 7-8: Disc Flicker, Vancouver BC (non-sanctioned fun chemistry building tournament!)
-June 28-29: Solstice, Eugene OR
-July 12-13: Revolution, SF CA (tentative)
-August 9-10: Kleinman, Portland OR (tentative)
-2nd weekend of September (Sectionals)
- Last weekend of September (Regionals)

Practice and tournament expectations:
We expect that our teammates prioritize Bullet Train practices and tournaments during the season. We know that everyone will have conflicts at some point during the summer, but we expect our teammates to communicate these conflicts ahead of time, and avoid them whenever possible.
Financial Information
In order to make frisbee accessible to all members of our team, Bullet makes a serious commitment to team fundraising. During the season, we will host fundraising events to help lower the cost of dues. In addition to the practice and tournament commitments above, team members will be expected to participate in 2-3 team fundraising events. Please feel free to talk to us if you are worried about the cost of the club season. Equity is one of Bullet's core values, and we do not want expenses to be a barrier on our team.

In 2023 and 2024, due to successful fundraising initiatives, we were able to run our entire season without asking for player dues. We hope to continue this trend into 2025 and are looking for teammates who will commit to working fundraising events.
Age Requirements
Bullet Train is an 18+ team.

Anyone is welcome to come to tryouts, but if you are under 18 and would like to participate in tryouts, please contact the Bullet Train captains directly at captains@bullettrainultimate.com.
