The Business Call for a UN Treaty on Plastic Pollution
Thank you for your interest in joining leading companies in calling on UN member states to initiate the development of a Global Treaty on Plastic Pollution.
As stated in the “business call” (
), the signatories recognize the importance of driving change through their own actions and have made specific public-facing commitments to transforming their own operations (e.g. signing up to the New Plastics Economy Global Commitment or joining WWF’s ReSource: Plastic platform).
The business call specifically targets key businesses across the plastics value chain at either a national or international level. Other organizations including NGOs, industry associations or government institutions who would like to support the call are encouraged to contact WWF’s Global Plastics Policy Manager, Eirik Lindebjerg (
). Individuals who would like to add their voice can join over 2 million other members of the public in supporting the global petition (
Endorsing the business call is primarily a signal to government decision-makers of the growing support from business for a global treaty on plastic pollution. There is no fee associated with endorsement and there are no additional operational or communications commitments associated with this endorsement. Importantly, endorsement of the business call does not represent any formal relationship between the signatory and WWF or any of the other co-authors of the Business Case for a UN Treaty Report.
