This program is available to CMC Denver members only.

Fill out and submit this form to apply for a scholarship for CMC Denver schools/classes. Tuition free classes are available for aspiring trip leaders, existing trip leaders, and senior school instructors who are Denver Group members.

The financial support for schools requiring qualifying trips are to have been led 12 to 15 months, as specified, PRIOR to the date of the application. As an example, application date January 30, 2017 for AIARE Level 1 requires the leader to have led 3 Winter non-Backcountry Qualifying Trips within a 15 month period prior to the date of application. "Winter" is defined for this purpose as November through April. Thus, trips led in November and December 2015 and January through April and November and December 2016 and January 2017 would be within the qualifying period.

This program is NOT a reimbursement program. Leaders should NOT register for a school and pay directly.You will be notified when your SALT application has been certified and you will receive a promotional code which you will use to register for the school selected. The school's tuition will be paid directly by the Denver Group Council.

Aspiring trip leaders need both Wilderness First Aid (WFA) and Trip Leader School (TLS). To qualify for WFA a member need only have completed one CMC Denver event listed in the scheduling calendar on-line within twelve months of the application date. Leaders needing to retake WFA , or complete WFAR, need only to have led one hike or instructed in one CMC Denver school field trip within twelve months of the application date.
