Which San José City Departments Should Undergo a Gender Analysis of Their Services First?
The San José Human Services Commission has been asked to recommend to city council which city departments should undergo a gender analysis of their services. Let us know which you think should go first in the survey below.

This gender analysis survey can have a real impact. Here are 2 examples from San Francisco:
- After they did a gender analysis of the Public Works Department, they increased the number of streetlights in areas where women and nonbinary people were experiencing street harassment.
- Before the survey, fewer than 7% of people who took the Fire Department's paper entrance exam were women. The gender analysis found that a lot of women couldn't come to the test times because they were in the middle of the day and not regularly scheduled. As a result of the survey, they moved the test online for everyone.
