Penn Carey Law JLSA, The Penn LGBT Center, and the Penn Carey Law LLM Human
Rights Scholars are proud to present: Bridge Building - an open conversation
with Vadim Blumin
Vadim is a historian, educator, and activist who currently serves as the
Jewish agency director of educational strategy, in charge of a global education
operation that is particularly significant in the former USSR, where Vadim was
born (in Dnipro, Ukraine), before moving to Israel at the age of 11. Vadim is
also the Founding Director of the Agency's Mandel Program for Excellence. Prior
to that, he led the organization’s Education Department for St. Petersburg,
Northwest Russia, and the Baltic States. He is also a leading LGBTQ+ activist
and a co-author of a Gourmand-winning cookbook (“commonwealth of tastes”).
The conversion will touch on Vadim’s personal background and barrier-breaking
path, education and activist work, and the Ukraine-Russia war from an
educational and social activist standpoint.
