2023-24 Membership Form for Snowsports Facilities, Academies and Independent Training and Event Organisations
Please use this form to sign-up or renew your organisation's membership to Snowsport Scotland (SSS) for the year from 1 September 2023 to 31 August 2024.

This process will formalise our relationship, and justify/support any collaborative snowsports development work we might undertake together as well as provide you with a range of benefits listed below.

ELIGIBILITY:
To be eligible to join Snowsport Scotland, member organisations must:-
1. Deliver services/products that are aligned to the 3 broad strategic objectives of Snowsport Scotland which are:-
    a) Creating snowsports participation opportunities
    b) Providing snowsports training or coaching to trainees
    c) Providing snowsports education or qualifications to the snowsports workforce
2. Have a legal structure appropriate to the scale and objectives of your organisation and be appropriately registered with HMRC and/or Companies House.
3. Have evidence of an experienced management team and suitable SOP's (standard operating procedures) compliant with industry standards.
5. Having up to date policies for:-
  a) Data Protection
  b) Safeguarding (only required if you work with U18's)
  c) Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
  d) Volunteers Code of Conduct
  e) Anti-Doping (only required if you work with competitive athletes)
  f) Health and Safety (+ Risk Assessments that comply with HSE and industry standards.)
6. Provide all the requested information including any snowsports participation data, which is then combined with sector-wide data, to support applications to sportscotland, Scottish Government and other national agencies for funding to support the sport and sector.

APPROVAL:
Please note that for your membership to be approved, all requested information must be supplied to the satisfaction of Snowsport Scotland.

All data submitted will be treated as confidential and is protected under the GDPR and Snowsport Scotland data protection policy.

MEMBERSHIP AFFILIATION FEE - £50
Completing this form and paying your annual £50 base admin fee will grant your organisation recognition as a member of Snowsport Scotland, entitled to the benefits listed below.

BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP
As a member organisation, you will have access to:-
1. Invitations to snowsports sector member meetings and conferences.
2. Support from SSS on any safeguarding, governance, financial or legal matters arising.
3. Support from SSS pathway coaches, to help develop coaching programmes.
4. Access to loan SSS snowsports event equipment (timing, radios, bibs etc). 
5. Free training for event officials.
6. Access to the SSS John Hynes fund offering 50% grants to support coach development/training.
7. Access to the SSS Special Members fund offering 50% match funding for snowsports equipment.
8. Marketing support from SSS for promotion of your events, memberships and activities.
9. Access to purchase public and product liability insurance products as outlined below.
10. Monthly SSS e-newsletters sent out to all your contact lists, with latest news and information on upcoming snowsports events. (An email address list will need to be provided)

OPTIONAL INSURANCE ADD-ON - £4 per person:-
Member organisations also have the opportunity to add on public and product liability insurance protection for their officers, directors, staff, committee members, coaches, volunteers and any other persons involved in the delivery of, or participating in snowsports activities approved by Snowsport Scotland.
The insurance package costs £4.00 per person. Persons eligible for insurance include:-
1. FOR FACILITIES: Staff and/or Season ticket holders or regular customers on a loyalty or membership scheme or regular snowsports engagement programme.
2. FOR TRAINING/EVENT ORGANISATIONS: Staff, volunteers and/or training delegates or event entrants.

The insurance covers:-
1. £10million public and product liability insurance for club directors and officers.
2. £10million professional indemnity insurance for coaches, instructors or leaders.
3. £10million employers liability insurance cover for all personnel formally employed, contracted or engaged by the organisation. (whether paid or volunteer)
4. £10million public and product liability cover for organising, delivering or participating in recreational snowsports activity.

ANNUAL COST:
The base cost of organisational affiliation to Snowsport Scotland is just a £50 admin fee, but the total cost will be determined by the number of persons to be insured @£4.00/person.

Please note all events must be delivered in accordance with industry and sporting safety standards and guidelines laid down by SSS.

Please note that in mountain environments this cover is for on-piste activity only.

Please declare the number of part and full-time officers, staff and volunteers that your organisations engages, that you wish to have covered by public liability insurances for the coming year.
Confirmation of Compliance *
I confirm that the organisation for which I am applying complies with all the eligibility criteria laid out at the head of this form, and that all information can be provided to Snowsport Scotland if requested. I also understand that the organisation's membership and insurances will only become active once Snowsport Scotland is satisfied that all conditions are met, and my certificate has been issued.
