Greek Community Bursary
Details and Eligibility
This bursary is a one-time payment and is open to a student enrolled in any field of study at a post secondary institution. It is an entrance bursary (up to a $1500 value) for 1 candidate entering their first year of study.
The scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement (minimum 85% average), community involvement (within our community and the community as a whole), involvement in extracurricular activities and personal attributes.
Applicants must have a parent who is a paid member of the community for the current year or themselves be a paid member.
Scholarships are for undergraduate programs and not for graduate studies. Scholarships are non-transferable nor may they be deferred to future years. Each year the best candidate who meets all the criteria will be awarded the scholarship as well as alternates. Should the recipient not pursue studies in their selected year then the scholarship will be awarded to the first alternate and so on.
All decisions made by the selection committee are final.

2. A letter no more than 1 page explaining why the applicant deserves the scholarship.
4. High school transcript (grade 10-12, including fall semester marks)
5. 2 Reference letters. One letter should be an academic letter written and signed by a teacher, administrator, guidance counselor, etc...The second letter should be a character reference letter written and signed from a non-family member.
A selection committee, made up of council members, teachers and community members will review the applications and make their decisions on the following basis: academic record, leadership and service to the community, involvement in extra-curricular activities and personal attributes.
Deadline for submission of applications is before opening of Greek Fest.
