2022 NYC Neuromodulation Conference Student Travel Award Program
With generous sponsorship of Abbott, the 2022 Neuroergonomics & NYC Neuromodulation Conference is offering travel grants for selected students and trainees who require financial support to attend the conference. Together with Abbott, the conference organizers are committed to access, inclusivity, and diversity, and we aim to do everything we can to reduce the cost and maximize resources for the attendees.

The "Abbott Emerging Science and Society Award” travel grant recipients will be selected based on their financial need. Upon a careful review, we will select a total of 10 recipients, and each will be awarded up to $1,000 USD toward supporting conference related expenses such as travel, hotel, or registration. Awardees are required to attend the entire three days of the conference from opening to closing remarks (and are encouraged but not required to attend workshops) as well as attend all social events focusing on diversity. Awardees will receive the grant after attending the meeting.
Eligibility: A full time student enrolled in MS or PhD program or other degree granting program at the time of the application who is involved in research and will not graduate before July 28, 2022.
The “Abbott Emerging Scientist Award” travel grant is not intended as a supplement for individuals with sufficient resources to attend the event (e.g., support from their laboratory). There are a limited number of awards and they are designated for individuals who would otherwise not be able to attend the meeting or experience personal financial hardship in attending. However, if you are receiving partial support for attending from your laboratory you may use this grant to supplement needed costs.

As a recipient, you will be required to attend both pre-conference social and women in neurotech events, where we will connect you with other Abbott Emerging Scientist awardees. You will also be recognized in the conference program. In addition to financial help, this opportunity is intended to promote your career through networking at the conference. In order to ensure your participation, you are required to submit an abstract for the conference.
To apply for the Abbott Emerging Scientist Award travel grant, please complete the form below. The awardees are selected by the conference Diversity and Accessibility Committee on a rolling basis, so you are encouraged to apply ASAP for a limited slot.
