Volunteering is a great vehicle to network with hundreds of math ed leaders from across North America. It's easy to get involved! Help us during the conference while getting to know many of our speakers and attendees. The dates for volunteering are October 28-31, 2023.

Volunteer Opportunities:

There are multiple opportunities to volunteer during the conference. We encourage each of you to volunteer for at least one area.

Bag Stuffing
Volunteers are needed to assist with stuffing bags on Saturday morning/afternoon prior to the opening of the conference.

Show the Way - Navigation Volunteer
Volunteers are needed to direct leaders to various locations throughout the conference center.

Registration and Check-in
Volunteers will assist with helping pre-registered attendees pick-up their conference-related material such as name badge, program book, conference bag, and other materials. *Computer skills are needed

NCSM Bookstore
Assist members in purchasing/ordering materials and general customer service in the bookstore.

NCSM Membership
Assist non-members with their free one-year electronic membership and members to renew their membership.

Exhibit Area Volunteers
Assist with answering conference questions for events hosted in the exhibit area.

Ticket Takers
Volunteers will be needed to assist with all ticketed sessions. This is one way to guarantee a seat for yourself at a ticketed session.

Local Arrangements

Local arrangements volunteers work with the local arrangements chair to help with set up for Sponsor Celebration (Saturday 10/28), set up/take down of room signs (Saturday-Tuesday)

Special Projects
NCSM will need other volunteers to perform special projects throughout the conference. Specific duties are yet to be determined though may include manning the volunteer check-in or directing traffic. If interested in volunteering in this category, you will be placed where the greatest need is at the time block you specify. Volunteers in this category should check-in at Volunteer Check-in to get their volunteer assignment.
