High street banking is a vital part of the local community. Local traders rely on high street banks to run their business. Consumers rely on the option of face-to-face banking, especially more vulnerable customers who are cash dependent, don't have the means or skills to bank online, or who will struggle to travel further afield to access face-to-face banking. Barclays is the last branch of any bank in the wider community and its closure would force residents and traders to travel to Peckham, Brixton, Streatham or Croydon.
Petition started by Thurlow Park councillors with Knights Hill and Gipsy Hill Labour councillors on behalf of residents and traders in West Norwood.
Sign below to write to Ashok Vaswani, CEO of Barclays UK, requesting that the West Norwood branch is kept open to enable local businesses and consumers to continue to access vital services.
