For 20 years, The G.R.E.E.N. Foundation has been educating and empowering African Americans about their health. We provide community health education on tobacco education; Breast, Prostate, and other cancers; Breast Reconstruction; Know Your Right Know Your Benefits - health coverage; and young adult advocacy education and training.
Mission: Students will increase knowledge of community services and how service-learning can improve services to local communities.
The Community Health Advocates program is virtual and meets 1-2x a month. Your role could include:
- sending emails to database
- making phone calls and sending texts to community partners and community members
- post on social media
- lead presentations
- plan events and more
Who Can Apply? This program is available to students who need to complete community service or internship/externship hours. We are looking for students who want to increase their knowledge of the importance of early detection while developing important skills (leadership, team building, community organizing, accountability, commitment and the support of giving back).
