Suggest a Talk Topic for Next Quarter
What topic would you like to give a talk about?

Submit just one suggestion at a time - you'll get a link to submit another one when you submit this one.

As you're thinking about what talk topics to suggest for our upcoming Planning Meeting, we encourage you to consider our Wheel of the Year.

These are our themes for the coming quarter:
  • October & November’s virtue is Transcendence, with the Character Strengths of Appreciation of beauty/Awe & wonder, Gratitude, Hope, Humor, Purpose
  • December’s virtue is Temperance, with Character Strengths of Forgiveness & mercy, Humility & modesty, Prudence, Self-regulation
These are for inspiration purposes only. Talk suggestions do not need to conform to any particular theme. Due to the nature of how we vote and schedule the talks, there's no guarantee that a talk that does match a theme will end up being scheduled during that theme's month.

Title of Your Talk *
Description *
Help us understand the scope and premise of the talk. Write for the general audience who might come across the talk on Meetup or elsewhere. The talk should be around 20-30 minutes long to make sure we have time for discussion afterwards.

This should provide enough detail for people to decide if the talk is for them. Aim for around 5-7 sentences.

Example: Have you ever had a difficult conversation? Did you wish there were some tools to help you communicate better in those situations? This talk highlights a few key ideas from the book Crucial Conversations. We'll review research-backed advice for communicating when the stakes are high, opinions vary, and emotions run strong. Instead of avoiding these situations or handling them poorly, find ways to set yourself up for better outcomes as soon as you recognize the conversation is happening. Come practice the values of Curiosity and Optimism with us!
