2017 Game For Life National Youth Football Championship
The Pro Football Hall of Fame Academy in Canton, Ohio has launched the nation’s largest post-season youth football event that will feature eight regional events featuring 500 top youth football teams from around the country vying for a national championship at the Johnson Controls Pro Football Hall of Fame Village this December. Regional play will occur in November and December in Las Vegas, Indianapolis, Orlando, Charlotte, New Jersey, Kansas City and Dallas.

The championship rounds will be held on new fields at the Johnson Controls National Football & Youth Sports Complex currently under construction as part of Hall of Fame Village, a $600 million development of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Campus. By 2019, the championship event will be hosted at the indoor football stadium at the Pro Football Hall of Fame village that will include 8,000 seats - a perfect place to celebrate the best in youth football.

For the team division, the top 8 teams in seven age groups will be invited to compete regionally for the right to play in Canton in December. The selection process will be headed by former Cleveland Browns General Manager, Ray Farmer, who will lead a team of Hall of Famers, legendary high school coaches and aspiring NFL front office student athletes from Malone University, who will evaluate the nation’s top teams throughout the fall for final selection and bracket seeding. The selection process will be updated on a weekly basis similar to the BCS Championship Series and feature both a numbers driven evaluation and a subjective evaluation by the nation’s top football experts.

The main selection criteria will include:

--Current Team Ability - Live evaluation at pre-season jamboree events and game film evaluation by the national selection team throughout the season.

--Traditional Team Metrics - Win-Loss Record, Strength of Schedule and Standing within Conference.

--Team History – Strength of team’s overall program and prior year success.

--Team Explosiveness – Defined by the current ability to make big-time plays by their top athletes over the course of a season.

The blue-ribbon selection team has already created a watch list of hundreds of teams at each grade level from throughout the country but every team in the country is invited to submit game film and complete a team questionnaire for possible selection. Teams will be invited on a rolling basis with some bracket slots remaining open until the last few weeks of the season to allow for emerging teams.

We thank you for your interest in nominating a team for selection to the Game For Life National Youth Football Championship.
