Hi! Welcome to the Illinois GPS Undergraduate Application for Fall 2021!
We are a student group dedicated to fostering an inclusive and scientifically-minded community within the graduate and undergraduate physics students at the University of Illinois. Among the activities we run to promote those goals are graduate-undergraduate mentoring, a yearly retreat, and periodic social activities. We invite anyone who is interested in studying physics and will be an undergraduate student at U of I, Urbana-Champaign in Fall 2021 to apply to join us. Members will have the opportunity to participate in all these activities, always free of any cost.

The purpose of this application is to get a sense of your personality and what you are looking for from this group, so we can give you the best mentor match possible. So, although your answers need not be long, details that will give us a sense of your personality are helpful.

*** By submitting this application, you are agreeing to meet with a graduate student mentor regularly through the semester, on a mutually agreed-upon schedule. ***

A note about personal information: we take your data seriously. This application will only be viewed during the matching process. However, because Illinois GPS is fully run by your peers, do not share anything you are not comfortable with them knowing.

If you have any questions about our group or this form, feel free to send them to us at: illinoisgps2@gmail.com .
