Mission Statement
The Marcellus High School Hall of Fame was chartered to recognize the accomplishments of the inductees for their contributions to the fine traditions and to preserve the history of Marcellus athletics.  Its purpose is to motivate current athletes, connect the past to the present, and develop pride in the rich athletic traditions of Marcellus athletics.  These inductees exemplify Marcellus’ commitment to academic, community, sportsmanship and athletic excellence.

There are 5 different categories for nomination; any of which can come from the following three eras:

1) Legends Era  - prior to 1950
2) Middle Era - 1951 – 1980
3) Present Era - 1981 – present

All nominations will remain active for a total of 5 years.  

Suggested “Guidelines” to use in the Nomination Process:
a. Level of competition achieved (i.e. Varsity, JV or Modified)
b. Leadership qualities (Team Captain)
c. Impact the candidate had on the athletic program in general
d. Honors and awards achieved (i.e. All League, All State, etc.)
e. School, League or State records held
f. Community involvement
g. Length of affiliation with the athletic program
h. Year of Graduation/Retirement
i. Sportsmanship/Citizenship/Character/Civility
j. Post high school athletic career accomplishments
k. Academic achievement (Scholar Athlete)

Timetable:
April 1st - Nomination Deadline
June 1st - Selection Committee will finalize honorees
September/October -  Ceremony to induct the class (Alumni Weekend)

Female Athlete – An athlete must have graduated from Marcellus Central School a minimum of 10 years prior to nomination.
Male Athlete – An athlete must have graduated from Marcellus Central School a minimum of 10 years prior to nomination.
Coach/Administrator – A coach or administrator must have retired from coaching/administration a minimum of 10 years to be nominated.
Team – A single season athletic team must have had its Senior class members graduate a minimum of 10 years prior to nomination. A plaque will be used to honor the entire team’s accomplishments.
Contributor – A contributor to Marcellus athletics can be nominated at any time.
