The City of Literature Award is a key prize within the East Anglian Book Awards, a set of longstanding awards which recognises the books and writers who have been shaped by, and have helped to shape, the culture of the East of England. Since the Awards began, they have highlighted the work of more than 150 authors, 200 titles and 100 publishers.
The City of Literature Award recognises an individual or organisation whose work has had significant positive impact on our region’s literary ecosystem, either at a community or sectoral level. We received many fantastic nominations and after careful consideration, the five finalists are:

Cast your vote! You must be a resident of the East of England to vote. For the purposes of the Award, the East of England is defined as Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. You can only vote once. Voting closes at 10am on Friday 12 December 2025. 
The winner will be announced at the Awards celebration evening on Thursday 12 February 2026. Book your tickets here.
