A couple of definitions:

Cisgender: People who are assigned female at birth and identify as girls or women, and people who are assigned male at birth and identify as boys or men.

Transgender: People who have a gender identity that doesn’t match the sex they were given at birth — for example, they were assigned female at birth but they currently identify as male. Trans can also include people who don’t identify with strict male/female gender roles. Other people who don’t identify as either male or female may call themselves nonbinary, genderqueer, or something else. Some people identify as both trans and nonbinary.
