The mission of the Point Pleasant Borough Special Education Parent Advisory Committee is to work toward the understanding, respect, support, safety, and appropriate education for all children with special needs in our community.
Some specific objectives from the mission statement are the following:
~ promote a network of parents of children with special needs and provide a forum to share information and discuss matters of concern and interest for children with special needs;
~ advise the Director of Special Services and administration on the operation and development of special education programs - parent and teacher training needs - and help to develop, review, revise and comment on any special education policy; provide opportunity for PPB School District and employees to share accomplishments, goals, and needs.
~ promote communication between the Point Pleasant Borough Special Education Parent Advisory Committee members with local, State and National organizations, Committees and groups that support children with special needs;
~ promote communication and programs within the community to encourage understanding, acceptance and inclusion of children with special needs;
~ provide informational forums to parents, educators, students and professionals involved with children with special needs.
