Address the rising cost of tuition by demanding the state provide more substantial, sustainable funding for Universities and Community Colleges, and increase funding for need based aid.
Food Insecurity *
Address the growing number food insecure students by increasing funding and improve accessibility of food assistance programs both on campus and statewide.
Textbook Affordability *
Push for statewide policies to bring the costs of textbooks down and examine more affordable online open-source textbook options for students.
Using 20% of Kicker Funds for Higher Education *
Reallocate 20% of the amount of excess revenue in the individual kicker to higher education to offset the rising cost of tuition.
Tuition Equity 5.0 *
Expand previously passed Tuition Equity to include undocumented students who are over the age of 25, so undocumented Oregonians of all ages can access in-state tuition.
C.R.O.W.N. Act *
The C.R.O.W.N. Act (Create a Respectful and Open Workplace for Natural hair) would prohibit discrimination based on hair style and hair texture in the workplace.
Tuition Advisory Councils and Tuition Caps for Community Colleges *
Create community college tuition advisory councils with voting seats for students and 5% tuition caps.
Cultural Competency *
Establish protocol that would hold institutions accountable to implementing and overseeing on campus cultural competency programs at each of Oregon’s universities and community colleges.
Remodeling the HECC’s Funding Model for Universities *
Remodel the Higher Education Coordinating Commission’s funding model to be implemented as needs-based model rather than outcomes-based model.
Dreamers Access Program *
Establishes the Dreamers Access Program to award student loans to eligible students with demonstrated financial aid.
