As the “Medical Assistance in Dying” (MAID) laws expand and grow more permissive worldwide, Jewish communities must confront new questions about autonomy, suffering and Halakha when making end of life decisions. Join us for a powerful discussion on the complexities of end-of-life care, with Halakhic guidance with Dr. Kenneth Prager, MD (chair of ethics committee at Columbia University medical center, Dr. Kenneth Prager, Rabbi Jeffrey Fox and Bassie Taubes, RN (certified onologist and breast care nurse). In addition to building a theoretical foundation for these questions, we will conclude with a very practical session on how to fill out a health care directive and carry out end of life conversations.
